Cassius III Update

At the moment most of Cassius III exists only as a computer drawing. The tests that I have done seem very promising. I have a plan view and elevation drawing of the rough idea of the machine.

This is not the final full working drawing, as I intend to build a  full size 3D model in M.D.F. to see if all the components will fit as required.   I will then redraw the whole lot once all the variable factors are  sorted out. I have built the  wheels and machined most of the sprockets. The primary drive is by a pair of duplex chains driving a pair of  countershafts  to the drive wheels at a ratio of about 20 - 1, via a pair of Go-cart chains.  The motors will be Bosch rotary lawnmower  motors connected together end to end by single sprockets running in a duplex chain so that small alignment errors can be accommodated, connected electrically in inverse parallel  configuration.  Each wheel will have two motors powering them.

I aim to use at least 90%  recycled materials to build this machine.  I have most of the construction materials to hand now. I want to prove that you don't have to throw  money at a fighting robot to make a reasonable machine

Here are some  pictures and drawings of the new Cassius III
